Parque de La Torre del Conde It was built for reasons of defence and is strongly linked to the history of the Discovery as Beatriz de Bobadilla, Lady of La Gomera and representative of the Crown took refuge here to protect herself from attacks from the natives after the death of Hernán Peraza el Viejo, the founder of San Sebastián, and with whom Christopher Columbus had a long and close relationship. Today, the tower is surrounded by a beautiful park of the same name.
