Generator Hostel London The rooms in this hostel are very basically decorated and furnished to cater for the backpacker market. However, the public areas are very modern and geared towards young 18-35 year-old travellers. There is an excellent lively bar in the hostel which serves cheap drinks every night. No guests are allowed in this hostel under 18 years of age. 04.2012 DO ## Location The hostel is located just five minutes walk from Russell Square underground station. Within fifteen minutes walk are Covent Garden, Oxford Street and lively Theatreland. ## Distance 32 kms to the airport (london heathrow airport) 42 kms to the airport (london gatwick airport) 4 minute walk to the nearest metro station (russel square) 2 km to the nearest station (kings cross) 3 minute walk to the nearest bus stop 5 km to the nearest fair site (earls court) ## Rooms The rooms are small and in fair condition with bright colour schemes. The hostel has a vast array of different types of rooms, (double rooms are not available) with up to 20 beds, most rooms (including twins) are with bunk beds. Facilities are shared with a maximum of ten other guests and bathrooms are in good condition. However, the rooms do have their own small steel wash basins. Rooms have combination key locks, rather than keys. NO CHILDREN ARE PERMITTED IN THIS HOSTEL, TOWELS ARE NOT INCLUDED, ALL GUESTS MUST SHOW A PHOTO ID UPON ARRIVAL. **ACCOMMODATION IS FOR PRIVATE ROOMS, HOWEVER ALL FACILITIES ARE SHARED WITH OTHER GUESTS. THERE ARE NO PRIVATE FACILITIES.** ## Restaurant The restaurant is on the ground floor and is decorated in the same style as the rest of the hostel, with polished silver tables and plenty of exposed metal work. The hostel also benefits from a lively bar, game rooms with a pool table and game machines. ## Exterior The building used to be a police residential building, relatively featureless architecturally, in red brick. ## Lobby The lobby is small, decorated in an extraordinary futuristic style with an abundance of chrome and coloured lights with an eye catching silver statue of a robot in the centre.
