The Spanish Steps with the Trinita dei Monti at the top and Egyptian Obelisk is less than 20 minutes away crossing the Tiber River into the old district. Visitors will pass Piazza del Popolo, famous over the years as a site for public executions, fairs and carnivals and a symbol of renaissance papal patronage. On this side of the river also lies the green and leafy public park of Villa Borghese, home to the famous Borghese Gallery and Museum. Hotel Casa Valdese offers both breakfast and dinner served in the basement and main rooms on the ground floor.
