Welcome to Waterkant Village

Waterkant Village The colourful village is a unique European-influenced village of semi-detached quaint cottages and cobbled streets preserved from the 1760s. Cradled between the city and the Waterfront, this village is an avant-garde, cultural urban refuge highlighted by the abundance of restaurants, art galleries, gay clubs, salsa clubs, tapas bars and Parisian inspired cafés. Facilities include secure parking, The Charles Café, a guest bar, wireless Internet access and function facilities. With a total of 40 rooms available, the property features a lobby and laundry service. Location The hotel is tucked between Table Mountain, the central business district and the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Most cottages, guesthouses and apartments in this hotel offer views from Asian inspired roof top terraces that sweep all the way down to the Waterfront and across to Table Mountain. The mixed Georgian, Cape Dutch and Asian colourful architecture, cobbled streets and historical standing is what makes the hotel so unique. It is often described as being arty, charismatic and quaint and is a truly special place decorated with gorgeous al fresco restaurants, pavement cafés, boutiques and bars. It is often compared with Greenwich Village. Cape Town International Airport is situated approximately 25 km away. Rooms From serviced apartments, houses, guesthouses and traveller's rooms, the hotel has it all and lodgings at the village are as diverse and eclectic as the place itself. The Traveller's Rooms are rooms which are designed as creative living spaces, ideal for travelling partners. Steeped in old world aesthetics due to their preserved facades, the restored houses in the village are intertwined with the village atmosphere itself. The en suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower and bathtub. The rooms are also equipped with double beds, a kitchen and a balcony or terrace. Sport Guests can enjoy leisurely hours next to the outdoor swimming pool on the terrace overlooking the village situated at the hotel. Meals The Charles serves a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes from traditional English breakfasts to true South African bobotie. Guests can also enjoy breakfast at the Village Café, situated on the corner of Napier and Waterkant Street.
