Between land and sea, Brittany is a wonderful region of traditions and legends.
Brittany conjures the legend of King Arthur, in the heart of Brocéliande forest, Brittany's lung, you will find the Golden Tree, the magic fountain, or maybe you will meet a Korrigan; the elves who are part of the legend. The megalithic site of Carnac is also an unique tapestry of prehistoric traditions. Brittany offers marvellous landscapes, at the north as well at the south. From Mont-Saint-Michel bay at the north-east of the region to Ushant, the westernmost point of France. Getting from one to the other, you will be greeted by the Côte de Granit Rose, numerous lighthouses and islands, and be treated to its rich fauna. Brittany is also a paradise for fishing adepts, with its vast and varied coastline nestled in wild waterway.
Epicureans will not be in want of a good meal with galettes and crêpes with salted caramel, washed down with a glass of local cider. Brittany proposes a lot of sweet specialities and is also a natural reserve of salt. In Guerande, salt workers still use ancestral techniques to harvest the salt flower. Breton cities and towns offer typical colours, thanks to the stone mainly in granite. Cities like Rennes and Saint Malo are very dynamic, but you could also appreciate the charm and fragrances of Josselin or La Gacilly.
