Amanpuri 11 years and under considered as a child and can be accommodated free of charge in parents room. Location Hotel is located above Pansea Beach on the west coast of tropical island of Phuket, off the southern coast of Thailand, where the Andaman Sea waters run clear and green. Set within a grove of tall coconut palms, Amanpuri rules a headland. Below the resort, seemingly undiscovered, lies the crescent shape of Amanpuri's private beach, secluded and unclutters. The quintessential tropical beach. Amanpuri is a 20 minute, 17 kilometer secnic drive from Phuket International Airport. Complimentary private limousine transfers to and fron Phuket International Airport are offered to guests. Distance Centrally located 21 kms to the nearest airport (phuket international airport) Close to the beach Rooms Forty pavilions and 30 Thai villa homes are interspersed throughout the coconut grove. The resort?s pavilions are 115 square meters each, including the private outdoor terrace. Pavilion rates are determined according to view and location. All pavilions feature an outdoor sala, a king-size bed, separate bath and shower, refrigerator with fully stocked minibar, electronic safe, stereo CD cassette system, IDD services and air-conditioning. Pavilions 105 and 103 enjoy the best views of the Andaman Sea. Restaurant The Terrace Restaurant offers casual, all-day dining in an afresco setting and features Thai and European specialities. The Restaurant serves Italian cuisine. Both restaurants are located beside the swimming pool. From November to April evening torch-lit Barbeques are held down on the beach. Lunch is served at the Beach Terrace, weather permitting. The Bar offers poolside drinks and snacks. At last light, half a dozen molded-brass tables and pairings of teak, rattan-backed chairs are set out along the terrace between the pool and the steps leading to the beach. The view is to the sun setting on Andaman Sea. Room service is available, 24 hours a day, in the privacy of the pavilions and outdoor salas. Exterior Nature may have blessed Amanpuri with a setting of splendid solitude, but it was Edward Tuttle, the American architect and interior designer based in Paris, who helped realize its potential. Using local granite and hardwoods, Tuttle brought Amanpuri to life as a stylized Thai temple complex, using Ayutthaya, the old capital of Thailand, as inspiration Lobby Amanpuri lobby, an open-air reception with a 10-meter-high ceiling with a Thai pitched roof, surrounded by lotus pond, overlooks the spectacular view of so beautiful Andaman Sea, resort's main midnight-blue swimming pool, the restaurant and bar.
