Welcome to Senso-ji Temple

Senso-ji Temple

The Senso-ji Temple (or Asakusa Kannon Temple) was built in Tokyo to honer the goddess of mercy, Kannon. It is also the oldest temple of the city and one of the most visited one. It regularly hosts several events, the biggest of them being the annual festival of the Asukusa Shrine in May: during the festival, the district of Asakusa is crowded with food stalls and festival games amid a warm atmosphere. Within the temple itself, you will find what's called o-mikuji stalls where you have the possibility to consult an oracle.
